How to Get a Library Card

To get a Mount Pleasant Public Library card you must come to the library, complete the application and provide at least one form of identification (photo id is preferable). Children in 6th grade and below must have a parent or guardian present to sign the form

Any resident of Mount Pleasant or rural Henry County , the contracting cities of Olds, Rome , Wayland, Westwood or any Henry County towns whose libraries have signed the Open Access Agreement are eligible for a 3-year card.

Iowa residents from towns outside of Henry County whose library has signed the Open Access Agreement may obtain a 1-year card. Iowa Wesleyan students may obtain a 1-year card by providing a current Iowa Wesleyan ID.

Most items may be checked out for two weeks. DVDs and videos may only be checked out for one week. Fines accrue when materials are not returned on time. Once you have reached the limit of $3.00 or have materials overdue for two months or longer you will no longer be allowed to check out materials or use the computers until the fine is completely paid or material is returned.
